2014 Commencement Ceremony
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s 208th Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. in the stadium at the East Campus Athletic Village.
Technology leader and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty will address graduates at the Commencement 2014 ceremony.
Rometty will receive an honorary degree, along with World Wide Web inventor Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, and pioneering geneticist Mary-Claire King.

2015 Commencement Ceremony
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s 209th Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 8:30 a.m.in the East Campus Athletic Village, Stadium.
Admiral Michelle Howard, Vice Chief of Naval Operations, will address graduates on May 30 at the 209th Commencement Ceremony of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Howard will receive an honorary degree at the ceremony, along with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Craig Mundie, and David M. Rubenstein. “Each of our 2015 honorands —Admiral Michelle Howard; filmmaker, cultural critic, and scholar Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.; cybersecurity policy expert Craig Mundie; and private equity pioneer and philanthropist David Rubenstein — has demonstrated resilience in his or her career. Each one is adding to the resilience of our society,” said Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson. -

2016 Commencement Ceremony
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute proudly celebrates its 210th Commencement Ceremony. We congratulate the graduates and welcome families and guests to celebrate the day it's all been leading up to! The graduate procession will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. on the Stadium Field. Each graduate will be individually recognized as he or she crosses the stage. Degrees will be awarded first to Doctoral candidates, followed by Master’s candidates. These students will receive their diplomas in alphabetical order within schools. Bachelor’s candidates will cross the stage in alphabetical order by school. The ceremony will be held rain or shine and last approximately three hours.

NRB Videos
Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond (NRB) is the official continuation of Rensselaer's orientation program that includes adventure/team building activities, historical/cultural programs, and community service opportunities all designed to help students get to know one another. One of the goals of NRB is to assist all incoming students in connecting with classmates while participating in interest-based activities. Another is to familiarize our new members of the Rensselaer community with not only the campus but also the city of Troy and surrounding areas.

The President’s annual Commencement Colloquy is a tradition unique to Rensselaer, keeping with its mission to prepare the next generation to succeed and lead in this world by bridging disciplines and sectors. On the eve of Commencement, President Shirley Ann Jackson will moderate a panel-style discussion with the Rensselaer Commencement speaker, and other distinguished speakers, who all will receive honorary degrees.
