In today’s globalized and fast-paced environment, getting relevant and successful products out the door as quickly and efficiently as possible is key to business success. Concepts like the new product development cycle and disruptive innovation are becoming more essential to success. While they are not new ideas, they take on a newer form in modern industry and are more critical than they ever were before. This event will focus on: • Defining key concepts and explaining the processes around new product development and innovation • Explaining the relationships and interactions between new product development and supply chain management • Outlining tools available to reduce time to market, while remaining successful during and post commercialization • Highlighting the importance of effectively and efficiently managing these relationships is today’s environment Bio: Lindsey Rappleyea is a new product development engineer at W. L. Gore and Associates where, for the past two years, she has been working on the development of medical devices. Her focus has been on understanding and validating user needs, developing design solutions, creating and testing prototypes, and gaining experience with manufacturing processes design. With a passion for design and innovation, she looks for ways to marry engineering with creativity to make a difference and produce for the greater good. She graduated from Rensselaer in 2013 with a dual degree in mechanical engineering and design, innovation, and society.
